I have recently updated the 'Originals' section on my website and you will now see the addition of some new paintings based on my travels to the Stockholm Archipelago in Sweden, Granada in Spain, Provence in France and Fez in Morocco. The rich and vibrant colours and strong architectural shapes and details in these collections provide a pleasing contrast to my well known harbour scenes of the South West of England. I hope you like them!!
I have been working on some local projects within the community of Dartmouth over the last few months. These have included a large collage mural for 'Stoke Flemming Primary School' where the pupils created imagery based on their local surroundings that I then used to create the finished artwork. I was asked to design the 'Dart Music Festival' T-Shirt this year and created one colour designs that were printed on the rear and front of the t-shirts - they proved a roaring success!
One of my best known images' Above Town, Dartmouth' is to be used as the artwork for the front cover of the latest 'Chronicles of Dartmouth' book which will follow the history of Dartmouth from the 1950's to the current day. I'm really honoured to have been asked to provide this image for the cover and look forward to seeing it published later this year.
In August 2009 I will be participating in the Summer exhibition at 'The Brownston Gallery' in Modbury, Devon. I will have the opportunity to exhibit larger scale pieces I am currently working on. This is the first time I will be exhibiting in this gallery - for more details go to www.thebrownstongallery.co.uk.
Later in the year in Early October I'll be exhibiting in the 'Art of Cornwall' show at the Wonderwall Gallery in Cirencester. I will have approximately 6/7 pieces in the show. For more details go to www.thewonderwallgallery.com.
For the rest of the year I will be concentrating on supplying my regular galleries in the South West with any new work.
I have undertaken several private commissions over the last few months. I have really enjoyed this process, working closely with clients to create paintings that are harmonious to their interiors. For more details on commissioning work please call me on 01803 839267 to discuss.
